Argon TIG and MIG gas
Argon is a non-flammable and non-toxic gas that’s widely used as a shielding agent during many industrial welding processes. Argon is commonly used for TIG and MIG welding, creating the weld with consumable and non-consumable electrodes.
The low ionising potential of Argon gas allows for the easy formation of a welding arc without a reaction with the metal components being welded.

Argon 5/2 Mig welding gas
DESCRIPTION
Argon 5/2 mixes 93% Argon with 5% Carbon Dioxide and 2% Oxygen. In small amounts, there is evidence that the Oxygen can improve the stability of the arc and reduce the tension of the molten metal. Argon 5/2 provides arc stability, puddle control and reduces spatter compared to pure Oxygen. The improved weld quality and reduced clean up makes Argon 5/2 a preferable choice of gas for MIG welding.

Oxygen gas
DESCRIPTION
The key industrial use for Oxygen is combustion – Oxygen supports the combustion of a variety of materials such as iron and steel, glass and concrete that wouldn’t usually burn in air. Oxygen mixes with other gases to allow a very hot flame to be produced and can be used to melt metal such as steel, in a room-temperature environment. Oxygen is often used in some shielding gas mixtures due to its ability to help stabilise the arc and reduce surface tension.

- Thermal lancing to cut materials such as concrete, brick, stone and a variety of metals
Acetylene Gas
DESCRIPTION
Acetylene is the hottest and most efficient of all fuel gases making it suitable for a range of applications and requires the least amount of oxygen to ensure complete combustion. Acetylene is recommended for underground working conditions as it is lighter than air and in cutting, gives the fastest preheating and piercing times of any fuel gas combination.

- Thermal spraying of a variety of metals and ceramics
- Spot heating
- Steel welding
- Branding wood and wood-ageing

SAFETY GUIDELINES
- When transporting gas cylinders, they should be securely fastened in an upright position.
- Ideally cylinders should be secured outside the vehicle in an upright position. If cylinders are transported inside the vehicle,
secure tightly and ensure vehicle windows are down to provide ventilation. - Always ensure cylinder valve is closed when not in use and tightly turned off.
- Secure the cylinder valve protector when cylinder is not in use and is being transported.
- Do not leave cylinders in direct sunlight or near any heat source.
- Always wear appropriate equipment for the task at hand.
