Capella Cricket Club Keeps Going with a little help from RED SHED

Beyond providing industrial supplies, we've found another way to embody our tagline, "Keeps you Going" -  nurturing the grass-roots of local sports through the sponsorship of Capella Cricket Club's juniors.

The Under 11 and Under 12 division teams, with their passion and love for cricket, remind us that keeping going is the essence of community spirit. Each game they play, cheered on by families and supporters, is a testimony to their relentless drive. Go team.

BAGGY GREEN DREAMS

May I just add, if I may, not too long ago, around last century, I, myself, was quite the brilliant cricketer.

No, I was.

Some local readers may well beg to differ if their memories serve them incorrectly. But after making the Central Highlands team at a very young age, there was no doubt the next stop for me was donning the Baggy Green, thanks to what I'd humbly describe as nothing short of supreme batting skills. Rather a waste of sporting talent really.

But enough about me and what could've been. It’s the future stars of cricket that I'm now excited to nurture.

Star Player spotlight - Andy Roebig

I want to introduce you to a young player named Andy Roebig – a tacker from the Capella Cricket Club who reminds me of my younger cricket-star self.

Andy Roebig, a 12-year-old all-rounder with the stage 2 Capella Clydesdales. His five seasons of club cricket resonate with the perseverance and resilience that RED SHED admires. With a fast bowl and an agile bat, he represents the future of the sport, a future that we're committed to supporting.

Andy Roebig, a 12-year-old all-rounder with the stage 2 Capella Clydesdales. His five seasons of club cricket resonate with the perseverance and resilience that RED SHED admires. With a fast bowl and an agile bat, he represents the future of local kids sport, a future that we're committed to supporting.

At 12 years young, Andy's already an all-rounder for the stage 2 Capella Clydesdales - his 5th season playing club cricket.

It takes me right back to the thrill of the game I once knew.

Now, Andy’s journey is already shaping up to be more impressive than mine ever was – with a knack for pace bowling, he mirrors the gusto and resilience we value at RED SHED.

Andy’s cricketing hero is none other than Marnus Labuschagne, whose prowess he strives to emulate on the field. A fan of the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, Andy's dedication has recently earned him a spot on the CQ Centurions U13 cricket team. This December, he’ll be showcasing his burgeoning talent at the 4-day Northern Alliance Championship in Proserpine.

So, when the opportunity came up to sponsor the Capella Cricket Club's junior teams, I said, "Howzat!" quicker than a batsman dispatching a full toss to the boundary. It's more than just slapping our logo on their kits; it's about fostering a spirit of perseverance and unity – the very essence of our motto "Keeps you Going."

As these youngsters step out onto the field, they’re not just playing cricket; they’re building life’s foundations – teamwork, respect, and the pursuit of excellence. All pretty cool skills to foster early on in life I say.

Off the pitch, when Andy and his friends switch to rugby in the winter, it's a testament to the adaptability that's so crucial in both sports and life - being ready for whatever play life bowls at you.

So, hats off to the future stars of the Capella Cricket Club. Your RED SHED gear looks pretty schmick. We're proud to help you throughout the season and beyond.

Keep going until the job is done, kids. Be unstoppable.

Cheers - Craig Dahlenburg.
