World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 – Emerald and surrounds

Filter and Industrial is honoured to be the major sponsor for World Suicide Prevention Day here in the Central Highlands. We encourage you to attend this important local community health initiative to support families and friends who have been impacted by suicide and/or mental health issues.

Central Queensland Rural Health will be organising Lifeline’s ‘Out of the Shadows’ walks in towns around the Central Highlands.

Event: Lifeline’s ‘Out of the Shadows’ walk. This event aims to raise awareness, remember those lost to suicide and unite in a commitment to prevent further deaths by suicide.
The Central Highlands events will be a little different with a ‘walking and chalking’ theme. There will be a welcome at the beginning of the walk and everyone is encouraged to walk as far as they feel comfortable (not the full 9km) whilst also ‘chalking’ on the pathways with positive, uplifting messages.
A light refreshment will be available and also resources for people to take home. There will also be support people there for anyone who may need it.
